The special cask for connoisseurs who want to have EMILL all to themselves and add their own touch to its development, or who are simply looking for something very special: For those, there is our private cask.
Our EMILL whisky is put together for you from a cuvée of different cask types. After maturing for at least 3 years in the special whisky casks, the whisky is stored in glass balloons specially provided for this purpose. This quality is exclusively intended for storage in EMILL private casks.

The private casks are based on high-quality, large whisky casks, which are converted into small casks in a complex process. You can choose from four finish variants, ex-cognac, ex-sherry, ex-rum or smoke casks. These enjoy another 100 days of special storage in EMILL's private storage facility, a carefully sealed area of the mill that is guarded by our head distiller like the apple of his eye. Each private cask is unique and will give your whisky a very special touch. This is how the distillate becomes your private whisky with a very individual touch.

The special features

What you can expect:

  • Personal advice
  • Exclusive mill tour with tasting of the private barrel types.
  • The basis is our EMILL cuvée (matured for 3 years, from American oak, cognac and European oak barrels). Oak, Cognac and European oak barrels).
  • You determine the finishing cask. The following barrel types are available: Finish in your own ex-cognac, ex-sherry, ex-rum or smoke barrel (approx. 20 liters).
  • The filling and storage of your private cask is done with you, the subsequent bottling by you.
  • After bottling, your barrel is sealed with sealing wax. You can do the sealing yourself.
  • Your barrel is stored in EMILL's private warehouse for approx. 100 days. The quality and maturity test is carried out by you.
  • In order to preserve your own whisky in the best possible way, you will receive 500 ml bottles including corks, individually designed labels and gift tins when you receive the cask.

COGNAC BARREL: Dismantled cognac barrel filled with high-quality cognac until filling. Character: Sweetish with a pleasant brandy note.

SHERRY CASS: Dismantled sherry cask filled with high-quality sherry until filling. Character: Sweet and mild with floral nuances.

RUM BARREL: Reclaimed rum barrel filled with high-quality rum until it is filled. Character: Cinnamony with aromas of baked cherries.

SMOKED CASS: Reconstructed smoked whisky cask. Character: Fruity aromatic to maritime smoky.

I love the Edles Fass Williams because of its wonderful symbiosis of creamy Williams pear and subtle woody notes. It is perfectly balanced between fruit and wood, with a clear, clean fruit on the nose and a long finish. The aroma and taste are wonderfully fresh. My favorite way to enjoy it is with friends and family after a great dinner together or on my own after a long day at work to start the weekend. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a classic product in a new way. Williams brandies are normally drunk either clear or as a spirit with fruit extract. Our cask product really is a highlight. I also think the design is very successful, which is why it makes an excellent gift for fruit brandy fans.

My absolute favorite from the "high-proof range" is our PREMIUMplus Gold-Willi. It tastes really nice and mild, very fruity, simply pure pear. When the rest of the family drinks Mirabell or Kirsch at the end of the day, I always have the Gold-Willi, which is also a visual delight with its golden color. I always recommend Gold-Willi, especially when it's on sale, because in my opinion it's simply a great alternative to the perennial favorites Moor-Birne and Altes Pflümle.

The EMILL ZEITWERK is particularly close to my heart. It always fascinates me how it has reached such depth and maturity after "only" 9 years. When I smell the glass, I imagine I'm sitting in a quiet lounge - everything around me fades away and I can concentrate fully on this moment of enjoyment. On the tongue, this whisky is a dream: soft, warm and round, with a gentle yet present note of sweet cherry compote, complemented by a slight smokiness. This is exactly what gives it a uniqueness that makes it my personal favorite. This whisky is perfect at any time of day and for any occasion - whether in a social gathering with friends or in private, as a relaxing end to a long day. For me, the only thing that matters is that the connoisseur is prepared to put everything else aside at that moment and get involved with this special whisky. I recommend it with full conviction to anyone who really appreciates a good whisky and likes to embark on a journey of discovery in a glass.
